Travel Prep and Thumb Olympics

I've got a little less than three weeks until I leave to go to the Masters of Divinity program at Uganda Christian University, a hundred things to do, and what am I worried about? Getting my texting up to speed. Ugandans text like nobody's business, and I am so not ready. It took me two minutes to compose a text message that would have taken me seven seconds to type (and yes, I have the word find turned on). But I digress.

I'll be in Mukono, Uganda, which is just east of Kampala, and slightly north of the equator. It's currently the rainy season (note to self: pack umbrella). But it's simply beautiful.

Takeoff is 3 May at 6:10 pm, and I'll land in Entebbe on 4 May at 8:15 pm. Bishop Muhima's (adult) children have kindly offered to help me with in-country school shopping. Registration is 6 May, which is when I'll be able to get into my dorm (and please pray for the dear sweet young woman who will have to share a room with me!). So, I won't have anything meaningful to post again until 6 May.
